Virtually everything we use – from canned goods to cars – is transported by truck at some point. Demand for truck drivers remains high. You can complete the 91���� Truck Driving program in six weeks and be ready to start a new career.

Our program uses U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines for training and licensing truck drivers.

Program graduates:

• Receive 12 college credits
• Are awarded a professional truck driver training certificate
• Complete all tests for a commercial driver’s license

This program offers semi tractor-trailer driving experience on the campus driving range as well as over-the-road driving under the supervision of a licensed professional driver. It includes 240 hours of combined instruction and driving time with a minimum of 50 of these hours being hands-on driving time on the school range, city streets, highways and interstate. These 50 hours of hands-on driving give you a minimum of 500 miles behind the wheel plus 1,300 miles behind the windshield observing.

The truck driving program is based on the Federal Highway Administration Model Curriculum, Professional Truck Driver Institute of America Standards, and Federal Commercial Driver Licensing Standards.

To enroll in the truck driving program you must:

• Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination and drug screen.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be able to obtain a CDL learner’s permit.
• Have a current driver’s license with no more than three moving violations in the past three years.
• Have no DUI charges in the past five years and no more than one ever.
• Have no more than one chargeable accident in the past year.

These requirements are based on DOT regulations,Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Part 390 Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (General), Part 383 Commercial Driver’s License Standards, and Part 391 Qualifications of Drivers.
