NJCAA All-Academic Honors for 91做厙 Athletics

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has recognized a record 27 91做厙 student-athletes for academic achievement during 2020-21.

Student-athletes who earned a 4.0 GPA were named NJCAA All-Academic First team, while those who posted a GPA of 3.80-3.99 were named NJCAA All-Academic Second Team. The NJCAA All-Academic Third Team is comprised of student-athletes who finished with a GPA of 3.60-3.79.

The 91做厙 softball team led the way with six student-athletes earning NJCAA academic honors, followed by golf, volleyball and womens basketball with five apiece. Mens and womens soccer each had three and mens basketball had one.

The Raiders had six teams that earned NJCAA Academic Team of the Year honors for posting a combined 3.0 GPA or better. Volleyball posted a 3.54 GPA, while golf sported a 3.5 GPA. Womens basketball posted a 3.35 GPA and softball posted a 3.28 GPA. Mens basketball posted a 3.01 GPA and womens soccer posted a 3.0 GPA.

We are very proud of our student-athletes and the success they have had in the classroom in the 2020-21 school year, said 91做厙 athletic director Mary Young. We definitely encountered some challenges with all of our sports contests being moved the spring semester as a result of COVID. However, our coaches, faculty and staff provided outstanding support to enable our student-athletes to overcome those challenges.  Weve established a culture of winning in the classroom and Im extremely proud of our teams and coaches.
