RAP Expands to 91做厙-Columbus

91做厙-Columbus has signed its first business for the Registered Apprentice Program (RAP).
At a recent signing ceremony, Lindsay Corporation of Lindsay, Neb. joined CNH International, Chief Building, Chief Fab, Heartland Electrical, and Standard Iron, all of Grand Island, and A&E Electrical and Protex Central, both of Hastings, in the RAP program.
RAP follows the earn while you learn model, which provides apprentices the opportunity to further their education and skills development while supporting themselves through employment. The work-based opportunity will help apprentices be eligible for high demand and high wage careers.
We are excited to partner with 91做厙 on this important initiative, said Kelly Staup, senior vice president, human resources for Lindsay Corporation. This is a great opportunity for us to gain access to talented students and help develop their skills for a long-term career in the welding profession.
Founded in 1955, Lindsay Corporation specializes in making Zimmatic pivot systems, irrigation and road safety items. Lindsay administrators said the company hires several welders, including several graduates of the welding technology program at 91做厙-Columbus.
91做厙's apprenticeship program is a flexible training strategy, said Catrina Gray, 91做厙 apprenticeship coordinator. It is customized to fit the needs of every business and apprentice. Its not just set one way to retain and sustain employment for apprentices and business.
