Fall Semester Information

June 22, 2020

From: Dr. Candace Walton
To: 91做厙 Students

Welcome to 91做厙.

We are all looking forward to the fall semester. 91做厙s mission and values remain the same we are about your success.

91做厙 will begin classes as planned on Monday, August 17. There are no additional adjustments to our course schedule planned at this time.

We are working on plans to continue classes, labs and events in ways that prioritize everyones safety. As you prepare for your arrival at 91做厙, we are pleased to share with you our key principles guiding our planning for your fall term.

First, 91做厙 will follow guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and local health district directives. As you are aware, the guidance changes as we learn more about the disease and how to best lessen risk in our community. Please be prepared for adjustments to expectations based on directives provided by our local officials.

Second, we are working on offering options with reduced face-to-face exposure in our classrooms to reduce potential of transmission of infections. Many of our larger enrollment classes may have an alternate method of faculty and student interactions which include several delivery options. This means some of your appointments may be conducted using phone or online conferencing. The college places the highest priority on providing live instruction whenever possible.

Third, we will make accommodations for students with individual health concerns. If you have a specific situation, you are encouraged to reach out right away to Dr. Beth Przymus, dean of student success, at 402-562-1284.

Lastly, for students interested in living in our residence halls, we encourage you to apply at 91做厙's Housing page as we are currently assessing occupancy and we want to ensure we can meet your housing needs. Our student success offices are excited to welcome you back. They will provide you with the assistance and supports you need including tutoring, counseling services, opportunities to meet other students through student organizations and activities, and high-quality academic advising, should you need to make any changes to your fall schedule.

As things may change in our state and region, we will provide you with additional updates as it relates to your fall term here at 91做厙. We will continue to provide more detail in the areas described above. We want you to be confident that 91做厙 will provide you with the best possible experience this Fall. Please refer to the 91做厙 COVID-19 Updates and Information page for a list of updates. Also, heres a great 91做厙 Student Resources page that may answer some of your questions and you are welcome to reach out to us with any questions you may have about the fall term via Phone Central at 308-398-7412.

Thank you for choosing 91做厙.

Sincerely,

Candace Walton, Ph.D.
