Grand Island
A March 26 ribbon-cutting ceremony at 91做厙-Grand Island marked the transformation of the Center for Industry and Technology into the Center for Health and Technical Sciences, the result of a $4.4 million renovation.
Ceremony participants were Cindy Johnson, Grand Island Area Chamber of Commerce president; Dr. Nate Allen, dean of skilled and technical sciences; Kerri Dey, pharmacy technician program director; Dr. Marcie Kemnitz, Grand Island Campus president; Lt. Gov. Mike Foley; Anthony Gonzalez, a Grand Island electrical technology major; College President Dr. Matt Gotschall; Kelsey Petersen, a Kearney occupational therapy assistant major; Sarah Kort, dean of health sciences; Janet Rasmussen, medical laboratory technician instructor; and Amy Stuart, drafting and design technology instructor.
Hastings
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held February 18 for the remodeling project in the Hamilton Building at 91做厙-Hastings.
The 15,000-square-foot area is home to the welding technology program.
The remodel was the second part of a two-part improvement project for the Hamilton Building. The first part of the project was a 17,000-square-foot addition for the advanced manufacturing design technology program that was completed in time for the 2020 spring semester.
Participants included welding instructor Mike Consbruck, 91做厙 Foundation Executive Director Dean Moors, College President Dr. Matt Gotschall, Gov. Pete Ricketts, welding students Dylan Vodicka of Geneva and Justin Slawnyk of Utica, Hastings Campus President Dr. Jerry Wallace, and welding instructors Dave Hassett and Jeff Kroeker.
