The environmental sustainability internships are great resume builders and applicable to all majors at 91做厙. With increasing emphasis on environmental responsibility in day-to-day life and business, the internships will provide you with many skills necessary for your degree, career, and life goals.
This is a great paid opportunity to advance your resume (for any major), personally and professionally grow, and gain work experience. These positions report to 91做厙s environmental sustainability director. Paid responsibilities are detailed under each position listed below. Position Summary
A sustainability intern is needed on the Grand Island campus to educate around and promote campus sustainability efforts. Responsibilities include developing emails to students, composting weekly, planning and promoting campus sustainability events including 91做厙's Earth Month events, promoting the Students 4 Sustainability club, and educating students and employees about general sustainability topics. This position reports to the Environmental Sustainability Director.
Time Requirement and Location
The sustainability intern will work 10-28 hours per week starting in August/September on the Grand Island campus. Applicants must be available to work a minimum of two consecutive semesters (eight months). Interns can work for a maximum of three years while remaining as current 91做厙 students.
Pay
$14 per hour
Qualifications
- Must be a current 91做厙 student
- Must be in good academic standing with the college
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Reliable and punctual

- Willing to work with food waste and compost
- Comfortable in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google and web tools, and receiving and delivering email communication

- Committed to growing personally and professionally, and advancing your skills in communication, technology, organization, and project management

Interns in the Environmental Sustainability Office have the opportunity complete all four e-Badges. An e-Badge is an award that learners can share with potential employers, on their resume and with their social media networks. Earned e-Badges also appear on your co-curricular transcript at 91做厙. e-Badge earners will learn knowledge and skills in environmental stewardship for their field of study or personal application.
Description
Work-study positions are available at most campuses for the Environmental Sustainability Office. Please talk with your campus Financial Aid Office for a list of availabilities. Work-studies will support the daily operations of 91做厙s Environmental Sustainability Office and help to research, develop, organize, manage, communicate or implement various environmental sustainability projects at 91做厙. Possible tasks include coordinating environmental sustainability events with various departments, presenting environmental sustainability topics to tour groups and classes, or data reporting.
Time Requirement and Location
Both are dependent upon the availability of work-study funds, but work-studies can expect to work five to 15 hours per week during the academic year.
Pay
$9 per hour
Qualifications
Work-studies must be a current work-study-eligible 91做厙 student. Work-studies must also be reliable and punctual, polite and professional at work and committed to 91做厙s environmental sustainability goals and learning about environmental sustainability.
